Rebuilding Communities

To build vibrant communities, people must have access to positive relationships, safe spaces, and opportunities for self-expression. We are dedicated to collaborations with likeminded individuals and organizations working to dismantle unjust systems and practices.

Safe Communities. Reduce Crime.

Creating safer neighborhoods is important to sustaining healthy communities. Residents play a critical role in creating safe spaces. People that feel a sense of ownership and take pride in their community often have safer spaces as the residents are willing to work together to improve their neighborhoods. Small actions can make a big impact, such as asking questions of strangers, calling the police when a neighbor needs help, shoveling snow off an elderly neighbor's driveway or attending city council meetings.

Our response to creating safer spaces was the formation of United to Prevent Crime (UPC) a grassroots group that believes that crime

can be prevented and everyone, no matter what age can and must take individual action to stop crime. We are a group of individuals that love where we live and want to create safer neighborhoods.  If you are interested in joining the movement, contact us.

Reducing Poverty

We are committed to reducing the effects of poverty through education and human rights advocacy.

Financial knowledge and skills are critical to reducing generational poverty. Two potential pathways by which financial literacy could contribute to poverty reduction are its initial influence on financial inclusion such as access to financial systems and services as well as entrepreneurship.

We choose to provide access to skill development opportunities equiping youth and adults with the tools to make healther decisions for their financial life.

Poor Kids Laughing

Our ability to change our circumstances often rest at the ballot.  In a free and fair election, the voter determines the winner. Once in power, elected officials help to oversee how society is organized and public funds are allocated. This process is crucial to ending chronic poverty. We educate the public on voting rights, engage disenfranchised communities and get people interested in democracy. We’re in communities, school campuses, transitional houses and at community events reminding everyone that YOUR VOICE MATTERS!
